So this has been on the front page of deviantART all day. It's not the guy's cat, nor his video. He didn't upload it to get recognition, but he did anyway. Why? Because kittens = pageviews.

Proof of this? My gallery's a varied mix of paintings and photography. Most popular deviation? "Kitty Fart." No joke. So, consider this a "social experiment".

Just like the other guy, this isn't my cat, nor my video either. It's simply a looping version of the other animation. Sit back and watch the flood of :+fav:'s, people. :XD:

Kinda' frustrating when my paintings get seven views and this took me ten seconds. =P

EDIT: Alright, well, that was productive. Thanks to everyone who was amused by this, and especially to those who got the idea behind it.

I was going to delete it tonight, but I think the comments and discussions here are pretty interesting.

I'll disable comments later on and let the popularity die down a bit, but thanks again. For those still scratching your heads, trying to figure out the point to all this, I'll make it simple.

It takes ten seconds to make an animation from some cute video you saw on the net. You'll get thousands of views, tons of favorites, and eventually, you'll land right on the front page of the site.

The thing is, without actually creating something, without making art, there's no sense of achievement. Whether you do silly abstract shit like me, paint gorgeous murals on the sides of buildings, or do nothing but write haiku about talking watermelons, if you're creating something new, you've contributed something to the site, and to the world in general.

Yes, some galleries are going to be of a higher quality than others, but if you're doing something new or different, that's more impressive than a copy/paste job.
